We all know how unpleasant it can be to get into a cold car in the winter months. There are some tips you can remember to keep your car running smoothly, and warm.
First, ensure you are using winter-grade oil. A lower viscosity oil will flow better in cold weather.
Make sure your antifreeze is at the right concentration. Washer fluid is used a lot in the winter months. Ensure you always have extra on hand, and make sure it's rated for cold weather. Most have a temperature on the front such as minus 30 or minus 40.
Warming up your car ensures your windshield, mirrors, and windows are defrosted. Think ahead, before you get out of your car, and turn the heat up, when you use a remote starter to start your car, the heat will warm up the car faster if it's at a higher temperature.
Keep the environment and your wallet in mind and avoid idling where possible.
