Strong winds expected across Newfoundland tonight and Friday

A low will push across Newfoundland and Labrador on Friday bringing snow to Labrador and western Newfoundland and rain mixed with snow for eastern and central Newfoundland with rain being the dominant form of precipitation. The primary concern will be the winds.
Overnight to Friday afternoon winds in the Wreckhouse area will gust to 120 km/h. On the northern Avalon and St. John's winds will gust from 80 to 100 km/h on Friday afternoon. From Bay St. George to Gros Morne winds will gust from 80 to 120 km/h Friday morning until Friday afternoon.
Additionally, there is a blowing snow advisory issued for the Northern Peninsula East where 10 to 15 cm of snow and winds will gust to 70 km/h on Friday afternoon.
