An area of low pressure will pass southeast of Newfoundland on Sunday night and Monday and will bring heavy snow to parts of the province.

The heaviest snow is expected east of Terra Nova including the Avalon Peninsula. Over the Avalon, snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm are possible. Winds will also gust to 100 km/h.

For the Burin Peninsula, Clarenville and vicinity, Bonavista Peninsula, and Terra Nova, snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected.

If the low were to make a slight shift in the track, heavier snow could fall further west.
