Powerful Winter Storm to Bring Heavy Snow and Strong Winds to Newfoundland

A low-pressure system is set to affect Newfoundland overnight and into Monday. The Avalon Peninsula will see the heaviest snowfall, with accumulations of 25-35 cm expected.


From the Burin Peninsula to the Bonavista Peninsula, snowfall amounts will range between 10 and 15 cm, with lower totals further west.


Winds on the Avalon Peninsula will reach gusts of up to 110 km/h, while the Burin and Bonavista Peninsulas can expect gusts between 80 and 100 km/h.
