Over three dozen schools in Newfoundland are closed for the morning or have a delayed opening due to weather and road conditions.

NL 511 reports that roads across most of the Island are snow covered with some areas of poor visibility. The poor road conditions on the Avalon Peninsula prompted an advisory from the RCMP.

The snow will come to an end this afternoon.
