Out of control wildfire continues in Adam's Cove

Town of Small Point, Broad Cove, Blackhead, Adam's Cove

A wildfire continues to burn out of control in the areas of Small Point, Broad Cove, Blackhead, and Adam's Cove. A state of emergency remains in effect.

Police have closed the Blackhead Brook road and are evacuating residents from Blackhead Brook North. Not all areas of Blackhead are under evacuation at this time.

The Salem Community Centre is open to all residents in need of assistance. The town is working to establish a remote Starlink site at the centre to support communication within the next few hours.

Counsellors are available at the Evacuation Centre in Persalvic to provide support.
