Blizzard-like conditions Sunday Night and Monday across the Avalon Peninsula

Blizzard conditions are likely across the Avalon Peninsula from Sunday night until Monday afternoon. The heaviest snow is expected to fall across the eastern Avalon Peninsula where 20 to 35 cm is expected. There will also be strong winds with gusts from 90 to 110 km/h.


Snow, blowing snow, and strong winds are expected across the Burin Peninsula, Clarenville, Bonavista Peninsula, and Terra Nova from Sunday night until Monday afternoon. These areas could see 10 to 20 cm of snow. winds will gust between 80 and 100 km/h.
