Schools are closed and roads are snow-covered across western Newfoundland and eastern areas of Labrador.

Across western and northern Newfoundland, another 2 to 5 cm of snow is expected today. The snow will end this morning on the west coast and this afternoon on the Great Northern Peninsula. Winds are also expected to gust between 60 and 90 km/h.

Snow, blowing snow, and strong winds are continuing in Labrador for Eagle River, and along the coast from Postville to Black Tickle. These areas will also see an additional 2 to 5 cm of snow this morning and wind gusts between 60 and 80 km/h, except up to 120 in the Black Tickle area.
