Wet and windy Tuesday ahead for NL

It will be a wet and windy day across the province.


On the Burin Peninsula, 2 to 4 mm of rain is expected this afternoon. Port aux Basques will receive 5 to 15 mm. 5 to 10 mm is expected in Corner Brook, and Port Saunders will receive 2 to 4 mm. Strong winds are expected along the west coast, with gusts up to 80 km/h expected.


The rain continues in Labrador, with Mary's Harbour seeing 5 mm, and Nain will receive 5 to 10 mm. 20 to 30 mm is expected in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. 10 to 20 mm is expected in Churchill Falls, while Labrador City is expected to see 15 to 20 mm.


Regatta Day

Taking a look ahead at the Regatta Day forecast. We expect a mix of sun and cloud with a few showers in the afternoon. High of 19. Winds SE 20 gusting to 55 km/h. We anticipate a 60 to 70 percent chance the Regatta goes ahead if the strongest gusts don't materialize over the lake during the morning.
