Weekend Weather: Some good and some bad on the menu

Saturday

A mix of sun and cloud is expected across Newfoundland. Winds will continue to be gusty on the Northern Peninsula and the Avalon Peninsula. On Saturday Night, rain will make its way from west to east. It will reach 7 in St. John's, 5 in Gander, and 3 in Corner Brook.

It will be mostly cloudy across Labrador to start out the weekend. For the Labrador City area, some snow is expected to start in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from zero in Happy Valley-Goose Bay to minus 7 in western Labrador.

Sunday

Precipitation across Newfoundland will come to an end by Sunday morning. The eastern half of the Island will see some afternoon sun and cloud. It will be cloudy on the West Coast with light winds. Highs will be near 5 for most areas.

Most areas of Labrador will see a mix of sun and cloud to round out the weekend. It will continue to be cold in Labrador with temperatures from plus 1 to minus 7.
