Saturday
The day will open with a mostly cloudy sky and a passing shower. Expect scattered periods of rainfall in the afternoon as temperatures reach a high near 10Â and dip to around 3Â overnight.
While widespread snow is not on the agenda for most coastal areas, strong rainfall warnings are in effect for portions of Labrador, and higher terrain may see a mixing of rain and snow.
In Labrador’s higher elevations, the expected 15 cm of snow could reduce visibility significantly, and mixed rain/snow at lower elevations may make for slippery roadways.
Sunday
The weather turns cooler and breezier. Rain and drizzle will make for a damp and raw Sunday, with the daytime high only near 6Â and the overnight low approaching 1.
Conditions in elevated interior areas may include the season’s first snow accumulation, especially along the Trans-Labrador Highway between Happy Valley‑Goose Bay and Cartwright Junction, where a snowfall warning is in effect.
Residents and travellers alike should monitor the forecast.
