The final weekend of October will bring a mix of cloud, drizzle, and cooler temperatures across Newfoundland and Labrador, as a weak system tracks eastward through the region. Conditions will vary by area, with the Avalon remaining mild, while Labrador cools considerably heading into Sunday.

Avalon Peninsula

The Avalon will see a damp start to the weekend with scattered showers early Saturday before skies turn mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach around 18 °C before falling to 4 °C overnight. Sunday brings brighter breaks with a mix of sun and cloud and highs near 15 °C — a pleasant improvement before cooler air returns Sunday night.

Central Newfoundland

Across the central region, Saturday will feature overcast skies and light drizzle at times, with highs near 11 °C. Cloudy conditions will linger overnight with a low near the freezing mark. Sunday is expected to be mainly cloudy but dry, with a high around 10 °C and calm winds through the day.

Western Newfoundland

The west coast can expect mostly cloudy skies and the chance of a few isolated showers on Saturday, with daytime highs reaching about 12 °C. Cloud cover continues into the night with temperatures dipping to 6 °C. Sunday brings similar conditions, with highs near 9 °C and a cool breeze off the Gulf.

Labrador

In Labrador, temperatures will trend lower through the weekend. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and a high near 11 °C. Rain will taper overnight as the mercury falls to around 4 °C. Sunday turns colder with periods of light rain or drizzle and a daytime high near 6 °C, dropping to 0 °C overnight — a sign that November’s chill isn’t far away.
