An evacuation order remains in place for Badger this morning.

The weather helped stop the fire from growing yesterday and similar conditions are expected today.

There are still some concerning hotspots, however, the fire has not jumped the river.

590 evacuees have registered with the Canadian Red Cross in Grand Falls-Windsor.

The RCMP continue to maintain a strong presence in the town and have been patrolling to ensure the community is protected.

The province-wide fire ban also remains in place.
