Watching a low near Bermuda

Aug 24
1 min read

In the Central Subtropical Atlantic, there is an area of showers and thunderstorms are slowly getting better organized in association with a low-pressure area southeast of Bermuda.

Further development of the low is possible, and this system could become a short-lived tropical depression or storm during the next couple of days while it moves northward and north- northeastward, well northeast of Bermuda.

The National Hurricane Center says this system has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation in the next 48 hours and seven days.

So far this year, there have been three named storms: Arthur, Bertha, and Cristobal. The next named storm will be Dolly.
