Unsettled weather tonight and tomorrow across Newfoundland

Tonight and Tuesday, freezing rain is expected across the west coast of Newfoundland from Corner Brook to Hawke's Bay for 6 to 10 hours. Deer Lake - Humber Valley, Green Bay - White Bay, and Buchans and the interior will see 8 to 12 hours of freezing rain overnight until early Tuesday afternoon.


Across northeastern Newfoundland, 4 to 8 hours of freezing rain is expected overnight and Tuesday morning. In these areas, the freezing rain will be preceded by 2 to 5 cm of snow and ice pellets. Precipitation will change to rain on Tuesday morning as temperatures rise.


Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity and Burgeo-Ramea will receive 25 to 40 mm of rain from tonight until Tuesday evening. The rain will be preceded by 2 to 5 cm of snow and a period of ice pellets and freezing rain.
