It will be a long weekend for most of us. It's a time to spend time with family and friends, which for many of us involves travelling. With that in mind, here is the forecast for the long weekend.

Saturday

Across the Avalon, south coast, and central, a mix of sun and cloud is expected. Along the west coast, there is a chance of showers. On the Northern Peninsula, there will be showers in the afternoon. Highs from 10 to 15 are expected.

For western Labrador, there will be some showers in the morning, and it will continue to be cool. For the Churchill Falls area, showers will end in the morning, then it will be cloudy with a chance of flurries. Showers will begin in the morning and end in the afternoon for central areas and the south coast. Nain will see overcast conditions. Highs from 1 to 9 are expected.

Sunday

On Sunday, a mix of sun and cloud is expected across Newfoundland with highs near 7. It will be a few degrees warmer along the south coast.

It will be nice across Labrador with a mix of sun and cloud expected, with temperatures getting up to 9 in most areas.
