Snow, rain, and strong winds across Newfoundland on Friday

An area of low pressure will pass north of Newfoundland tonight and Friday. Most areas will see snow to start but the snow will quickly changeover to rain.


The low will be accompanied by strong winds.


Below is the snowfall forecast, rainfall forecast, and current alerts in effect.

  • St. John's 0 cm

  • Gander 2-5 cm

  • Grand Falls-Windsor 5-10 cm

  • Corner Brook 10-15 cm

  • Marystown 2 cm

  • Port aux Basques 10-20 cm


Rainfall Forecast:

  • St. John's 2-4 mm

  • Gander 10-20 mm

  • Grand Falls-Windsor 15-20 mm

  • Corner Brook 10-20 mm

  • Marystown 10-20 mm

  • Port aux Basques 25-50 mm
