Snow is underway on the west coast of Newfoundland as the next storm begins to make its presence known.
Western, central, and northeastern Newfoundland is going to receive 15 to 20 cm of snow from this afternoon until early Monday morning.
It will be somewhat of a different story for the southern Avalon, Burin Peninsula, and Connaigre, where snow will change to rain this evening with a risk of ice pellets and freezing rain during the changeover. Rainfall amounts of 15 to 30 mm are expected.
Eastern Newfoundland will see 5 to 10 cm of snow tonight, changing to 5 mm of rain on Monday. There is a risk of ice pellets and freezing rain during the changeover.
On the southwest coast, snow will begin this afternoon before changing to ice pellets and freezing rain to rain overnight. 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected, followed by 5 to 15 mm of rain.
In the Wreckhouse area, winds will gust to 130 km/h early this evening and will diminish after midnight.
