Severe weather causes power outages across the Island

There are thousands of customers in the dark this evening due to power outages brought on by severe weather.

Most outages are on the Avalon Peninsula, and there are also outages in Clarenville, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, and the Corner Brook area.

Strong winds will persist through the night and Wednesday.
