Several new temperature records set across Newfoundland

It was hot across the Island portion of the province on Thursday and several daily maximum temperature records were set for June 5.

In Corner Brook the temperature reached 27 degrees, breaking the old record of 26.6 set in 1967.

La Scie recorded a new record of 28.5, beating the old record of 26.0 set in 1979. St. Lawrence reached 19.9, narrowly beating the old record of 19.8 set in 2009.

In Twillingate, the temperature reached 28.5, the old record of 22.2 was set in 2020. Winterland reached 24.7, beating the old record of 22.2 set in 2020.
