Rain is expected for most of Newfoundland today. On the northern Avalon, rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 mm are expected. 20 to 30 mm is expected in central areas, 15 to 25 mm could fall along the south coast, with 10 to 20 mm for the west coast. On the Great Northern Peninsula, rain or snow will begin this morning and will change to snow or ice pellets near noon, with 5 to 10 cm anticipated.

Across the island today, we are looking at temperatures in the low to mid-teens, really unusual for this time of year. The rain and warm temperatures today will continue to attack the snow on the ground.

In Labrador, about 2 cm of snow is expected in southeastern areas. For northern and western areas, a mix of sun and cloud is expected. Labrador will see temperatures from minus 24 to minus 17.
