Officials monitoring wildfire near Churchill Falls

The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is watching a wildfire near Churchill Falls.

The fire is located near the ski hill area and was reported this afternoon.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro are acting on the wildfire from the air with helicopters. A water bomber, an additional helicopter and three Wildland firefighters have been dispatched from Happy Valley-Goose Bay to assist.
