National test of Alert Ready taking place today

There will be a national Alert Ready test today.

An emergency test message will be issued through television, radio and compatible wireless devices at 9:55 a.m. Newfoundland Time and 9:25 a.m. in most of Labrador.

The national emergency public alerting system is being tested in most provinces and territories as part of Emergency Preparedness Week.

Some residents will not receive the test alert on their wireless device due to compatibility, LTE network connection, cell tower coverage, device software and/or settings.
