More winter alerts issued for parts of Newfoundland and Labrador

Snow, blowing snow, and strong winds continue across southeastern Labrador and the Great Northern Peninsula. Another 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected this afternoon, along with winds gusting from 70 to 80 km/h. On the Great Northern Peninsula, gusts to 100 km/h are possible, and the snow will linger overnight.
Parts of central, northeastern and eastern Newfoundland will pick up 5 to 15 cm of snow, with wind gusts from 80 to 100 km/h. Snow will start overnight tonight and continue until Sunday at noon.
Most of the Avalon Peninsula will also see snow overnight tonight until Sunday afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 15 cm are expected with winds gusting from 80 to 100 km/h.
For the Avalon Peninsula Southeast, snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are possible with winds gusting from 80 to 100 km/h this evening until Sunday near noon.
