Low pressure system to bring rain and wind to Newfoundland and Labrador

An area of low pressure will move across Newfoundland on Monday afternoon and Monday night, bringing rain and gusty winds to the region.


Generally rainfall amounts of 5 to 15 mm are expected across the Island. Along the south coast and portions of the Avalon Peninsula, 15 to 30 mm is expected.


Western and northern Labrador will likely see the most rain across the Big Land, with 15 to 35 mm expected. Central and southern coastal areas will see 10 to 15 mm.


Winds will be an issue also, with gusts from 70 to 90 km/h across most of the Island late Monday afternoon until Monday evening. In the Wrekchouse area, gusts to 100 km/h are expected.
