This morning, the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture changed the status of the Kingston fire to “Under Control” which means the wildfire has received sufficient suppression action to ensure there will be no further spread. The size remains at 10,095 hectares.
Today’s heavy rainfall is providing relief to both firefighters and pilots. 15 ground crew from this province are on site and continue with fire management activities. Weather will keep air supports grounded, however, it is unlikely that air support would be required today.
