Hot and dry weekend ahead for the Island, a few showers for Labrador

A heat warning remains in effect for parts of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Saturday

Newfoundland will see sunny skies along the west coast and a mix of sun and cloud in central and western areas. Smoke will also remain prevalent. Daytime highs will reach 30 for most areas.

In Labrador, it will be overcast and there is a chance of showers for most areas as a disorganized area of precipitation moves through. Daytime highs will reach 30 for most areas except western sections of Labrador, where highs will be closer to 23.

Sunday

Mostly cloudy conditions are expected across western and central Newfoundland, along with most of Labrador. The Avalon Peninsula should remain sunny or mainly sunny. Smoky conditions will continue. Daytime highs will reach 30 for most areas.
