Heavy rain for parts of Newfoundland today

Jun 24
1 min read

A low-pressure system is forecast to move across Newfoundland today, bringing rain to most of Newfoundland, with the most intense precipitation rates on the west and south coasts.

Rainfall forecast:

  • St. John's and vicinity 5–10 mm

  • Gander and vicinity 5–10 mm

  • Grand Falls-Windsor and vicinity 10–15 mm

  • Burin Peninsula / Connaigre 15–25 mm

  • Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity 20–30 mm

  • Corner Brook and vicinity 10–15 mm

The tight pressure gradient around the low indicates windy conditions across parts of Newfoundland, particularly along eastern and southeastern coastal areas.

Labrador will be largely dry today.
