Heavy rain and strong winds for parts of NL today

Heavy rain is expected today for the Avalon and much of the south coast with the Avalon Peninsula and Burin Peninsula seeing 40 to 80 mm of rain and winds gusting to 100 km/h.


Rain and snow are expected for central and the west coast. Rainfall will be significantly less in these areas. On the Great Northern Peninsula, snow is expected with 2 to 4 cm on the menu.


It will also snow across southeastern and central Labrador today with 2 to 4 cm expected. Flurries are expected in western areas.
