Heavy rain and strong winds expected across Newfoundland

Heavy rain and strong winds are expected across Newfoundland beginning tonight and continuing to Monday night.

Heavy rain is expected for most areas, but the heaviest rain will fall along the south coast. For Channel-Port aux Basques to Burgeo to Ramea, rainfall amounts of 80 to 120 mm is expected. Connaigre to the southern Avalon Peninsula will likely see 60 to 80 mm.

On Sunday morning, winds in the Wreckhouse area will gust up to 110 km/h.
