The Portugal Cove – St. Philip’s Fire Department advises of an Emergency Evacuation Order due to smoke advisory from a structure fire.

Effective immediately residents in the area of Bridgets Road, Harding’s Hill, Boulder Lane, Somerton Lane, and bottom of Anglican Church Road are being asked to evacuate immediately due to a smoke advisory resulting from a nearby structure fire.

Emergency crews are currently on scene responding to the fire, and heavy smoke in the area is creating conditions that may pose a risk to public health and safety. As a precaution, residents in the affected area are asked to leave the area until further notice.

The Recreation Centre will be open and available for residents who require a place to go during the evacuation.
