Crew rescued after mayday call in the Bay of Islands

All 20 crew members are safe after the MSC Baltic III lost power this morning and ran aground near Wild Cove in the outer Bay of Islands.


The ship departed Montreal and was headed to Corner Brook.


JRCC in Halifax received the mayday call and both 103 and 413 Search and Rescue Squadrons responded.


The coast guard and search and rescue from Gander responded to the call and airlifted all 20 crew members to safety.
