Bay D'Espoir Hydroelectric Station partially back online, power warning continues

Vice President Rob Collett of NL Hydro and Vice President of Engineering and Energy Supply with Newfoundland Power, Byron Chubbs, provided an update today on the ongoing power warning.

Six of the seven generators at the Bay D'Espoir Hydroelectric Station have been turned on after some progress with divers removing the ice.

A power warning remains in effect, and customers are asked to continue to conserve power.

There hasn't been a need for rolling blackouts so far. But can still happen if needed.
