Another low incoming to Newfoundland

An area of low pressure will push across Newfoundland on Monday bringing strong winds and snow to the Island. The snow on Monday morning will change to freezing rain and rain along the south coast and on the Avalon Peninsula.


On the west coast, 10 cm of snow is possible over higher terrain from Bay St. George to Gros Morne, Burgeo to Ramea. Winds will gust between 60 and 70 km/h, except 120 km/h in the areas prone to enhanced easterlies along the west coast.


Total snowfall of 5 to 10 cm is expected in the Port aux Basques area. Winds will gust between 80 km/h, except 130 km/h in the Wreckhouse area overnight tonight and Monday morning.
