An area of low-pressure system will bring rain, a rain-snow transition zone, and localized snow across Newfoundland on Thanksgiving. The southern and eastern portions of the island can expect steady rain. A narrow, transitional band of mixed rain and snow stretches across northern sections of the island with snow in the north. Further north into parts of the Northern Peninsula, precipitation shifts entirely to snow.

Unsettled weather will start the long weekend. The Avalon and Burin Peninsula will see showers, with 2 mm expected. 2 mm of rain is expected on the Northern Peninsula. There is a chance of showers elsewhere. Highs from 11 to 18 are expected. Overcast conditions are expected across Labrador, with a chance of showers in Mary's Harbour and Churchill Falls. In western Labrador, we will see showers later today before rain changes to snow overnight. Expect highs from 5 to 12.

Sun and cloud is expected across most of Newfoundland today, with the exception of the Great Northern Peninsula, where there is a chance of showers. The winds will be significantly lighter today. We will see highs from 9 to 16. Rain is expected across Labrador today, with Happy Valley-Goose Bay looking at 5 mm; Mary's Harbour will see 2 mm. In western Labrador, rainfall amounts of 5 mm are expected, with flurries mixing in at times. Highs from 4 to 9 are expected.
