Rain and strong winds to impact portions of the province
It will be mostly nice across the Island portion of the province today with highs near 17. Along the southwest coast, rain is expected with 5 to 10 mm expected today and heavy rain tonight. Wet weather is expected across Labrador with 5 to 10 mm of rain today in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area, late-day rain in Nain, and 2 to 4 mm of rain mixed with snow in the Churchill Falls area.

National test of Alert Ready taking place today
There will be a national Alert Ready test today. An emergency test message will be issued through television, radio and compatible wireless devices at 9:55 a.m. Newfoundland Time and 9:25 a.m. in most of Labrador. The national emergency public alerting system is being tested in most provinces and territories as part of Emergency Preparedness Week. Another nice day expected for most of the province
It will be mainly sunny across the Avalon and central sections of the Island. Along the west coast, a mix of sun and cloud is expected with a chance of showers in the Corner Brook region. Highs across Newfoundland will range from 8 to 18. Some drizzle is expected in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area and snow in Nain this morning. Expect sun and cloud in western areas. Temperatures from 5 to 13 are expected.
