Drizzle to start the day for parts of the Island, smoke in Labrador
Along the south and west coast of the island, fog and drizzle are likely this morning. A mix of sun and cloud is expected in the afternoon. Elsewhere across the Island, a mix of sun and cloud is expected. Highs will range from 15 to 25. Smoke is present across most of Labrador this morning. There is a risk of showers in most areas, with the possibility of thunderstorms in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Churchill Falls. Highs will be from 21 to 26.

Evacuation order in place for Walsh River area near Labrador City
An evacuation order has been issued for the Walsh River area just outside of Labrador City. Those in this area are required to leave immediately. An evacuation alert is in place for areas of the Duley Park Campground and the Tamarack Golf Course. Those here are advised to prepare now in the event that conditions worsen and an evacuation is necessary. The fire danger is Extreme in western Labrador. Warm and humid conditions expected across parts of Newfoundland and Labrador today
In Labrador, temperatures are forecast to climb into the low-to-upper 20s. Happy Valley-Goose Bay is expected to be the warmest location in the province at 28 C, while Churchill Falls could reach 24 C and Labrador City 21 C. Nain is forecast to remain considerably cooler with a high near 14 C and periods of rain. Across the island portion of the province, conditions will vary from region to region.
